"Caring for Camden" Fundraiser Set

Area residents are planning a benefit fundraiser for 2 1/2 year old Camden Marshky, who has been battling a brain tumor and spinal tumor since he was diagnosed in February 2007.

"Caring for Camden" will be Sunday, March 30 at 1:00 p.m. at Radmaker's, 4 E. Holden St., Tolono, Illinois.

The day will begin with a poker run over approximately 60 miles if the temperature is 60 degrees or more. If the temperature is below 60 degrees, a poker game will be played at Radmaker's. The entry fee is $10.

The Feudin' Hillbillys lead by Derrick Roy (owner), 2006 Illinois Country Music Association dance band of the year, will perform in concert from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. The performance will also feature special guest Rick Roy, owner of the "McLean County Country Opry Show" and past winner of the ICMA "Entertainer of the Year" Award eight times. The $5 admission includes free food.

Dear Friends and Opry Family,

The Opry Fundraiser was a huge success. We are so overwhelmed by your kindness and support that we don't know where to start. We hope everyone had a good time. The entertainers were wonderful and the band was right on. Rita's homemade pulled pork was the best we have ever tasted as was the veggie soup. However, the thing we equally enjoyed , was the homemade pies and cakes.

So all we can say is "Thank You" from the bottom of our hearts. Without you , this event would have been a failure. However, because of your kindness, we will be able to continue the Opry Show.
